Faith

What are your religious beliefs, why? and what is your general (and respectful) opinion of the faith within the human race.

My personal opinion is that one can believe what they want as long as it doesn't imply having to forcefully convince others outside of the faith bubble. And that faith should not be mixed with politics being that they are different approaches of maintaining order.

Re: Faith

hey, you didn't tell anything about your own beliefs..

I'm an Athiist, I believe there is no god or force whatsoever.

I believe that we, like everything around us, are 100% build of molecules, atoms, but nothing like a soul. A soul is something that is made up by humans because they couldn't live with the idea they would be nothing after their death.

Also, I find it rediculous to believe a human would have a soul, and animals wouldn't. For example, human DNA is +/- 97% equal to a chimp's DNA.
(reference:  http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v19/i1/dna.asp )

now that is enough proof for me to say that IF a human has a soul, a chimp has one too.
if a chimp has a soul, a gorilla has one too, so has a dog, chicken, mouse, mosquito, ..bacteria..?
you see where I'm going.. I'd like to state that IF a human has a soul, that persists after his dead; it's not gonna be alone; there will be billions and billions and billions of little bacteria-souls.

now if you agree that we have no soul, and are 100% build out of molecules, you'll also agree with the fact that we have no free will.
our body, and brain, is build from atoms. Atoms fly around and collide with each other. When a collision takes place, the two atoms will both fly in a different direction. If you'd shoot 2 other atoms into each other, with the same speed and direction, they would fly into EXACTLY the same direction after the collision as the first 2 atoms. This is logical. The same forces are applied, the same action, and that means : the same reaction. this goes for all atoms; their collision path could theoretically be predicted.

Your brain is build up from neurons. They can be seen as cells that get a impuls, and send one if enough impuls is 'collected' in a certain time. Your brain reacts to all outside actions, impulses, and tries to determine the best response for the body. Whenever you make a choice, (with your free will, at least you think tongue) your brain actually makes a choice between a lot of different options. Now imagine, you make any choice. Then, we jump back into history for about 5 minutes. Everything is exactly how it was when you first made that choice, and you don't know you ever travelled back. Would you make another choice the second time around? No. Same imputs, same outputs. Then, did you ever really have a choice? Did you actually get to choose with your free will? Or did your brain pick the best option? I believe the last. Noone has a free will, and we all do what our brain thinks is best for us.

im half cristian, but i dont trust in the priest, the vatican and the grape pie

i share that opinion, is stupid to say that the humans have soul and the animals not
humans are another kind of animal, not to different from the apes, we eat, we reproduce in the same way as the mamals, we pee like the animals, so what make us different??

for me the animals and the humans have a soul. The humans must stop that greed of think that they are the center of the universe

one thing that does make us different (excluding language which is questionable for its a different version of barks, meows, and cock-a-doodle-doo's) but it's our necessity of creating. or art, or cooking, or music, or entertainment even crating an order or system. I don' believe we have a soul but i do believe we have something that separates us from animals. At the same time, animals have something that separates us from them. And if you look further you can see that there are things that separate animals within animals. like different kinds of apes.

Humans within themselves are different kinds of apes. the reason why we have so many wars is because we're trying to unite things that are just too different from each other. when we are just too different. Humans forget that we are all completely different and try to be so politically correct by excluding racial or ethnic division. But even when you bring many of those kinds into one city, they naturally segregate themselves. fro example: "China Town" "Little Italy" and there tends to be a Latin side of town and a Black side of town.

What I'm getting at all this is that we don't have soul, but something inside humans drives us to do what we do. whatever that is, it also drives chimps to do what they do, and cats and dogs and yes bacteria. it's an inner drive. Some more complex than others. But everything has a purpose and to reach purposes you have to have fuel.

Re: Faith

I'm a member of the Church of the SubGenius, believe it or not.

Though that's hardly my faith. I guess I'm mostly Buddhist in alot of ways. I believe the answers to life's questions can be found by looking within yourself. We as humans have the ability to think analytically and I think it's both a huge curse and a wondrous gift. The big problem is that we always try to overthink everything. We need answers, we need proof, we need this, we need that blah blah blah. We end up making everything a hundred times more complicated than it actually is,

I hate psychology, and I'm not big on medicating people. I think if you can't fight it out with your own body, it's a sign that it's time. However I'm a huge hypocrite about that, because I use painkillers excessively to help soften my madeningly painful migraines.

Re: Faith

I respect that each individual has their own beliefs when it comes to religion.I think we can do what we want as long as it is right and just for everyone. It is a matter of respect and faith to God.

Re: Faith

I am a Catholic Christian by birth. But I don't share all the beliefs and traditions, not a good follower of rules too. I believe that you may find happiness without hurting people. I believe in Karma too.
